Finicky Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Finicky ("the app", "we", "us") is a meal-planning app for iOS and Android
published by Jay Tong (tvtroid). This policy explains what information the
app collects, why, and how it's used.
Information we collect
-
Account information. When you create an account, we
collect your email address and password (handled by our authentication
provider, Supabase; we never see or store your raw password).
-
Location. With your permission, the app reads your
device's location (only while using the app) to suggest meals and
delivery options near you. If you save an address, its text and
coordinates are stored on our servers so you can reuse it later — you
can view and delete saved addresses at any time from Settings.
-
Meal and preference data. Meals you log or plan,
dietary preferences, ingredient restrictions, and budget/spice-level
preferences are stored so the app can generate and remember relevant
suggestions for you.
-
Device identifier. The app generates a device
identifier used only to enforce the free daily usage limit on AI meal
suggestions.
-
Purchase information. If you subscribe, the App Store
or Google Play sends us a purchase/transaction identifier so we can
verify and activate your subscription. We do not receive your payment
card details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
-
Advertising. Free-tier use of the app shows ads served
by Google AdMob. Ads are requested as non-personalized —
we do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework and do not track
you across other companies' apps or websites. Google's ad SDK may still
process basic technical information (such as IP address and device
type) to deliver ads and prevent fraud.
How we use this information
We use the information above to operate the app's core features: generating
personalized meal suggestions (using Google's Gemini AI — only your
preference inputs, such as mood and budget sliders and general location,
are sent for this purpose, not your email or account identity), remembering
your saved addresses and preferences, enforcing free-tier usage limits,
verifying subscriptions, and showing ads to free-tier users.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the app:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication.
- Cloudflare — hosts our backend API.
- Google — provides the Gemini AI meal-suggestion model and the AdMob advertising SDK.
- Apple and Google — process app purchases and subscriptions.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
- Location access can be turned off at any time in your device settings; the app will still work without it.
- Saved addresses can be added or removed from the app's Settings screen.
-
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data
(meal history, saved addresses, and subscription records) at any time
from Settings → Delete Account. This action cannot be undone.
Children's privacy
Finicky is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
